Pikey Peak Trek

Pikey Peak Trek has newly opened trekking and climbing destination located in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal. One of the best views of Mt. Everest can be seen from the top of Pikey Peak. This peak climbing presents fantastic sunrise and sunset view with classical Sherpa culture, Green lush forests, and realistic existence of mountain people. It covers a wide range of Himalayan peaks starting from Dhaulagiri from west to Kanchenjunga to the east. It is off the beaten path trekking trail too.

 

Silence hike to the Himalaya, an amazing grand view of nature, ethnic groups such as Sherpa, Tamang, Gurung and Chhetri and their welcoming hospitality are the major characteristics of this trip. Dhaulagiri, Makalu, Everest, Kanchenjunga, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Langtang, Gaurishankar are the main eye-catching Himalayan sights from this place. Walking through Pine and Rhododendron forests by listening sound of Birds makes your trip very memorable.

 

The trek begins after 7-8 hours driving to Shivalaya from Kathmandu and trek to Bhandara, Namkhel and Pikey Dada. You will also have the opportunity to visit local monasteries such as Chewang Monastery, Mani walls, Chortes, and stupa.

This is one of the less crowded trekking trails; so trekkers will be free to hike and make their mind more peaceful. The lower part of this trip presents Hindu culture and lifestyle whereas Buddhist culture in higher part. The viewpoint of Pikey peak was even recommended by Sir Edmund Hillary who was the first climber of Mt. Everest with Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu

Our Represented member from our Company assist you from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu Nepal and drive to Hotel, and preparation for trip meet with Trekking Guide and Trek Organizer.

Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing

Our cultural tour guide takes you to show world heritage sites of Nepal such as Monkey Temple-3000 years old Temple, Old Patan City-Old King Palace, Pashupatinath-Popular Hindu Temple, and Boudhanath –big Buddhist Stupa. It is a full-day guided tour where our guide will explain about Nepal associating with history, Geography, religion, People and culture where you can have a cross-question to him to know about all details of Nepal.

Day 3 Kathmandu to Dhap Drive 8-9 hrs

Early in the morning, we begin our drive-by Private Jeep to Dhap from Kathmandu by following Araniko Highway. We drive alone with Sunkoshi River to the east part of Nepal till we reach Ghurmi. During the drive we cross various local villages and hills also having a break on the way because it is quite a long drive. Overnight at Dhap.

Day 4 Dhap to Japre 2920 m 4 hrs walk

Today we start our trek from Dhap to Jhapre village. We walk through many farmlands and terraced field and finally we reach Jhapre. From Jhapre we will be a beautiful image of Mt. Everest, NumburHimal and more white Himalayan Peaks. We will also visit Gompa where Tibetan Buddhist monks practice and follow their rituals.

Day 5 Japre to Pikey Base Camp 3640m 6 hrs walk Today too, after having breakfast we begin our trek to Pikey Base Camp.

During hiking, we cross many human mountain settlements and rhododendron, Oak and Pine forests. Also, we will see animal grazing pasture with forested land area. We finally reach Pikey Base Camp which is more famous nowadays due to the short time to see Mt. Everest from near. Overnight at Pikey Base Camp.

Day 6 Pikey Peak 4302m 7-8 hrs walk & Trek to Loding 2515m

Early morning before sunrise we begin our trek to Pikey Peak having uphill walk with the deep forested territory. After having an adventure hike we reach the top of Pikey Peak which is located with an elevation of 4302 meters. We enjoy the view of Himalayas make a photograph of sunrise and also see the top of the world Mt. Everest. From the top of the Pikey Peak, we can have the scenery of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, JugalHimal, Gaurishankar, and more Himalayan peaks. Then all the way walk down to Loding. Overnight at Loding.

Day 7 Trek to Junbesi 2680m via Thubten Choeling Gompa 5 hrs walk

We trek to Junbesi today after having breakfast in the local Lodge of Loding. Our trail path goes downhill through dense forest with local villages. Junbesi is a beautiful village of Sherpa settlement. You can visit the old monastery and high school which was built by Hilary Trust. We also visit ThubtenChoelingGompa where Buddhist Monks pray and chant the mantra. We visit the monastery have meditation with local Monks and back to Junbesi.

Day 8 Trek to Phaplu 2415 m 5 hrs walk

After breakfast, we trek to Phaplu by following the path of the Himalayan region. We cross many local villages and finally reach to Phaplu.

Day 9 Fly to Kathmandu/ Drive to Kathmandu

Today you reach to Kathmandu from Phaplu by drive or by flight. But flight is very often from here to Kathmandu if not we drive by private Jeep to Kathmandu

Day 10 Departure to Home

Our representative from our company assists in your departure to Tribhuvan International Airport.
