Nar Phu Trekking

Nar Phu valley is located in the northern part of Nepal in the Annapurna Conversation Area of Nepal-Tibet Border. It is off the beaten path trekking trail having fewer tourists, makes trekking silent and gorgeous. It is also called the hidden valley trek due to the high Himalaya in two sides and valley in the middle. Nar Phu valley trek presents classical Hidden Tibetan Buddhist culture with Buddhist stupas, Chortens, Mani Wall, Gompas and also an attractive scene of Annapurna Himalaya. During the trek to Nar Phu, you will explore Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Nagdi Chuli and Annapurna Himalaya.

 

Trek to Nar Phu takes trekkers to Narrow gorges to medieval villages and old attractive Buddhist Shrines, Herbs of Blue Sheep and veiled trekking route. Nar &Phu are two villages; Phu is located north part of the Tibet side whereas Nar is located behind part of Pisang Peak. The government of Nepal has opened this trekking trail since 2003 which was very rich in culture and nature. The citizens who are living in this trekking trail are Tibetan origin, but now having Nepali Citizen who is migrated many years ago from Tibet. Amazing pass, Kang La makes your trip more adventurous and challenging. Early morning from Nar, you will start your trek to Kang La; having an amazing view of Annapurna and Humde Airport with Nawal village.

 

Nar Phu valley trek follows the path of the Annapurna circuit until koto and from there, your route goes right north part of Annapurna by leaving the main part of the circuit trek. Until koto, there are many tourists and local people but when you go to Nar Phu from Koto, you will feel fewer people and silent and less crowded areas. The monastery called TASHI LHAKANG is one of the popular Gompa in this territory. It will be a great chance to get a blessing from Lama Rimpoche in Phu monastery as described as the timeless village. Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu

Our Represented member from our Company assists you from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu Nepal and drive to Hotel, Meet with your director in the Hotel.

Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing

 

Our cultural tour guide takes you to show world heritage sites of Nepal such as Monkey Temple, Old Patan City, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. It is a full-day guided tour where our guide will explain about Nepal associating with history, Geography, religion, People and culture where you can have a cross-question to him to know about all details of Nepal.

Day 3 Kathmandu to Chamje Drive 7 hrs drive

 

After breakfast drive to Chamje via Besisahar with our trekking team. You will drive to Prithibi Highway to Besisahar. From Besisahar we will have the off-road drive to Chamje by local private Jeep. During the drive, enjoy the amazing terrace field, waterfall, Local villages of Gurung and Tamang community. Overnight at Chamje.

Day 4 Chamje to Dharapani 1960m 6 hrs walk

 

Today is the first-day trek where you will hike to Dharapani from Chamje. Though, there are Jeep drive on the way but can see the amazing waterfall and greeneries. We will cross the bridge near Tal and we will enter to Manang district by leaving Lamjung. We follow the Marshyangdi River where we can see rice potato, Barley fields.

Day 5 Dharapani to Koto 2670m 5 hrs walk

 

After breakfast, we start our trek to Koto via forest by following the same Rive Marshyangdi. We will see the super view of snowcapped mountains today. There will be a great opportunity to see the monastery in Bagarchhap and continue to walk to Danaque and finally hike to Koto. Overnight at Koto.

Day 6 Koto to Meta 3560 m 6-7 hrs walk

 

By leaving the main trail of the Annapurna circuit trek, we move to the hidden valley of Nar Phu Path. We will walk through Oak, Pine and Rhododendron forests till forest camp. On the trail there is a large area of blue pines, hemlocks and birches gain subtropical jungle. In Koto, Annapurna Conversation Area Project office will check our special permit and you are permitted to go in the land of Nar Phu. During the hike, we will cross SotiKhola, PhuKhola, and Dharmasala. From Dharmasala the trail goes step up until Meta village. The best view of Kang Garu (6981m) can be seen from Meta. Overnight at Meta.

Day 7 Meta to Phu village 4250m 7-8 hrs walk

 

Today is quite a long day trek from Meta to Phu village. It is off the beaten path trekking trail which seems to be mini Tibet of Nepal. There are no greeneries during hiking today; cross Kyang village follows the Phu River and finally reaches an amazing classical town of Phu village. In Kyang, there are old houses where refugee people from Tibet captured and lived in this place. It is also called Khampa settlement. We will have attractive scenery of Pisang Peak, Annapurna II, Gyaji Kang, and Tilje Peak. Phu is the extraordinary village it is the head of this valley and monasteries nearby Chortens, Mani Walls makes your trip more classical. Overnight at Phu

Day 8 Explore Phu Village

 

Today you have a free day and also have the opportunity to explore Phu village. Explore Tashi Gumpa where local monks come to talk with you also visit Yak and Sheep wool center. During your trip, you feel as if you are in 17th-century society in this modern world. Trekkers also can walk to Himlung Himal Base Camp. Explore around Phu village.

Day 9 Phu to Nar Phedi 3490m 5-6 hrs walk

 

After exploring Phu village trek down to Nar Phedi where there is a big monastery called Nar Phedi monastery. You will live with female monks called nuns who are welcoming people and they will provide you a neat and clean room with good local foods. Every 5 0’clock there is puja (blessing) in the monastery where trekkers can participate to involve here.

During the trek to Nar Phedi from Phu village; pass through Khyang, Chyarkha and Jhunam village. The Nar Phedi is also called Mahendrapul. Overnight at Nar Phedi.

Day 10 Nar Phedi to Nar Village 4110m 3 hrs walk

 

From Nar Phedi, the trail goes up to Nar Village which is a beautiful village and it is bigger than Phu. Nar means the place of blue sheep where you can see the blue sheep around. It is the best place to explore the hidden places on earth. Amazing view of Pisang Peak, Kang Garu, are the main Himalayan sights of this place. The Guru CholingGompa which is located at the top of this village and SamtenPelgye Ling Gompa on the bottom part of the village are more interesting. Explore around and overnight at Nar Village.

Day 11 Nar to Nawal (3660m) via Kang La Pass (5306m)

 

Today is more challenging and adventure day; be physically ready to cross Kang La Pass. We will leave Nar village before sunrise toward Kang La Pass. It is not hart to climb but it is more tuff due to high elevation. The best view from Kang La top is amazing. The Himalayan sights such as Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak are like a mirror from the top of Kang La. Then, the trail goes steep down to Ngawal. Overnight at Nawal.

Day 12 Nawal to Pisang and Drive to Besisahar

 

After breakfast, you will continue to walk down to Pisang where there are more tourists who are heading to Annapurna circuit Trek. From Pisang, we drive to Besisahar by Local Private Jeep. Overnight at Besisahar.

Day 13 Besisahar to Kathmandu

 

Today you will drive to Kathmandu through Prithibi Highway by following Trishuli River.

Day 14 Free day in Kathmandu

 

Today you are free in the hotel or you can walk around.

Day 15 Departure to Home

 

The representative of our company assists in your departure to Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu.
