Lower Mustang Trekking

Lower Mustang  Trekking is a classic trek in the Mustang district of Nepal that includes the world’s deepest gorge of the Kali Gandaki River. Muktinath is a famous pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist. To the Hindu, Muktinath is sacred as the place of salvation. They believe that bathing in the water here guarantees salvation after death. To the Buddhist the Jomsom and Muktinath trek is a part of the Annapurna circuit and perhaps the single most admired treks in place where the great Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) meditated on. The scared temple has 108 waterfalls where the devotees take bath.

Lower Mustang  Trekking begins from Nayapul which is one hour drive from Pokhara. Next we trek to Birethanti and then Ulleri. Following the stone steps we reach Ghorepani. We hike to Poon Hill to enjoy sunrise and 360 degree magnificent views of Annapurna massifs, Dhaulagiri, Hiuchuli and other mountains. Crossing the rhododendron forest, villages of indigenous people and terraced landscape you reach Tatopanai. Then the trek goes through Kagbeni, on the boarder of upper Mustang and the Hidden Kingdom via Kali GandakiRiver. Finally you reach the popular pilgrimage site Muktinath.
