Gokyo Chola Pass Trek

Gokyo Chola Pass trek covers both cultural and natural activities related to Buddhist culture; adventure Himalayan Cross (Chola) & Popular Everest Base Camp with attractive Gokyo Lake &GokyoRi. This trekking route is the enough for those trekkers who wants to experience adventure Pass of Himalaya and explore hidden Tibetan Buddhist ritual. It is also called high altitude trek of Nepal.

This is a challenging and more adventure level of trekking route that needs strong physical fitness for a successful round trip. The best time to go trekking in this route is March-May & Sep to Nov. During Monsoon and winter season, it is very hard to cross Chola so it must look the best time to go Gokyo-Chola-EBC trek. If you go during spring and autumn season to GokyoChola trekking can have an amazing view of Himalaya and easy to cross pass.

In Gokyo, Trekkers explore 5th lake and early morning climb Gokyo Ri to have a beautiful 360* view of Himalaya which are popular in the world. Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu

 

Our Represented member from our Company assist you from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu Nepal and drive to Hotel, and preparation for trip meet to Trekking Guide and Trek Organizer.

Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing

 

Our cultural tour guide takes you to show world heritage sites of Nepal such as Monkey Temple, Old Patan City, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. It is a full-day guided tour where our guide will explain about Nepal associating with history, Geography, religion, People and culture where you can have a cross-question to him to know about all details of Nepal.

Day 3 Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2850m) Trek to Phakding (2656m, 3 hrs walk)

 

Early morning transfer to the Domestic Airport for the Trans Himalayan flight and dramatic landing at Lukla: gateway to the Khumbu/Everest region. Meet your local porters and walk downhill to the Sherpa settlement. The trail then follows the DudhKhosi Valley before ascending to Ghat and Phakding. Overnight in Phakding Lodge

Day 4 Phakding to Namche Bazar (3440m, 6 hrs walk)

 

The trail meanders through pine forest, crossing suspension bridges and several Sherpa villages to Jorsale: entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park and permit checkpoint. Thamserku (6,618m/21,714m) glistens above the village. Continue to the confluence of the Bhote and DudhKhosi Rivers then climb steadily via the high Tenzing- Hilary suspension bridge with inspiring glimpses of Everest and the Nuptse – Lhotse ridge. A final three-hour forest ascent leads to the administrative town of Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazar Lodge

Day 5 Rest day in Namche Bazar for acclimatization (3440m)

 

Today is the rest day for acclimatization but you are not staying at Tea-House. You will explore around; Hike to Japanese Build 5* Hotel and Khumjung village to see the head of Yeti in Khumjung Monastery. Enjoy the fantastic view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku and many high Snow-Capped mountains. Overnight at Namche Bazar.

Day 6 Namche Bazzar to Dole (4200m)

 

The trek from Namche Bazar to Dole takes 6-7 hours where you will have an amazing view of KusumKangaru, AmaDablam and Glimpse of Mt. Everest. Today, the path is a combination of ascending and descending until you will reach in Mongla (4000m). From Mongla, the trekking trail goes steep down to PhortseTanga via forests of rhododendron and pine from there hike up to Dole through bush and hanging greeneries which makes your trek more impressive.

Day 7 Dole to Machhermo (4470m)

 

Today, there is no descending path to Dole from Machhermo. After breakfast, climb up to Luza (4355m), and follow Dudh Koshi River and finally, you will reach in Machhermo village. It is beautiful villages where our guide will help you find the best lodge there and overnight in Machhermo.

Day 8 Machhermo to Gokyo (4760m)

 

Today, you will have 4 hours’ walk to Gokyo via Ngozumpa Ice Mass. You will have the best hike today where you will explore the third big Lake. The beautiful image of Himalaya, Rocky walking trail and blue glacial Lake of Gokyo makes your trip amazing. You will sleep in the lodge which is situated near the Lake and back part of Lodge there is a big glacier which you have seen after you reach in Gokyo. Overnight in Gokyo Lodge.

Day 9 Explore Gokyo Ri (5360m)

 

Early morning before breakfast, our guide will lead the way to GokyoRi need torchlight to hike up. It is amazing 2:3o hours hike to Gokyo Ri which presents super Gokyo valley with massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible view of Himalaya. After exploring Himalaya from the top, walk down to Gokyo and rest day.

 

Day 10 Gokyo to Thangna(4700m)

 

From Gokyo to Thangna, it takes a 4-hour walk we will cross the big glacier and finally, we will reach Thangna. We will have a beautiful landscape with a stunning view of Himalayan Peaks. Today we will have good rest in Thangna due to the next day adventure cross of Chola. We will explore the biggest and wonderful glacier called Ngozumpa. Overnight at Thangna.

Day 11 Gokyo to Dzong La (4830m) via Chola Pass (5363m)

 

Early morning we will start our trek because today is quite long and adventure day during the whole trek to Everest Region. It is quite a challenging but more adventure experience in your lifetime. You will ascend to the rocky stone trail and finally reach on the top of Chola from where you can see the amazing Himalayan view of the Everest region. Be aware! Even our guide will inform you near Chola stone may fall down; you have to care for it yourself. After having successful Chola pass descend to Dzong La. Overnight at Dzong La Lodge.

Day 12 Trek to Lobuche (4900m)

 

Today you will walk to Lobuche which is situated in 4900 meters above sea level. It takes 4 hours to reach Lobuche from Dzong La where the trail goes slightly up. From Lobuche, you can see the beautiful picture of Pumori Himalaya. Overnight at Lobuche.

Day 13 Lobuche to Gorakshep (5360m) Visit Everest Base Camp

 

Today is a quite short walk from Lobuche to Gorakshep which takes 3 hours. On the way, we can have a beautiful image of Khumbu Glacier and the north rim of Mt. Everest. Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori are the major attractions of mountains from here. Take lunch and walk to Everest Base Camp; if it is spring can see the so many camping tents that are ready to climb Mt. Everest. Overnight at Gorakshep.

Day 14 Gorakshep,toKallapathar(5545m) to Pheriche (4200m, 4 hrs walk)

 

Early morning, hike to Kalapatthar from Gorakshep which is one of the popular destinations during your trek to EBC. Kalapatthar is a popular place to see a panoramic view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, and more snow-capped Himalayan Peaks. After having a view, walk down to Gorakshep, take breakfast and way back down to Pheriche. Overnight at Pheriche.

 

Day 15 Pheriche to Namche (3440m, 6 hrs walk)

 

As usual, you walk to Namche from Pheriche. The trail follows the Imja River all the way to Tengboche. From Tengboche, the trail moves down to PhungiThanka and climb to Namche. Overnight at  Namche.

Day 16 Namche to Lukla (2850m 7 hrs walk)

 

From Namche, your trekking route goes down to Lukla from Namche Bazaar. You will return back the same way to Lukla as you had climbed before. Today, you will finish your trekking and tell Good Bye to your porter who carried your bag during the whole trip. Overnight at Lukla.

Day 17 Lukla to Kathmandu (1300m, 25-minute fly)

 

Early morning, fly to Kathmandu from Lukla with your trekking Guide. Tell Goodbye to him in Kathmandu Hotel.

Day 18 Rest Day or Shopping Day in Kathmandu

Today, you will have a rest day in Kathmandu. You have a free day today.

 

Day 19 Departure to Home

 

Fly to Home after having unforgettable trekking to Gokyo, Chola & Everest Base Camp.
