Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is located northern part of Nepal near Kathmandu in the Langtang region. The trekking trail presents a diversity of Nature, wildlife, adventure, and local culture.

You will start your trek from SyabruBesi after having 6-7 hours drive from Kathmandu and hike to Langtang village, KaynjinGompa, Same way back to Lama Hotel and ascend to ThuloSyabru, LauriBinayak Pass and final Gosainkunda.

From Gosainkunda, the trail goes descend to Phedi, Ghopte, Tharepati, kutumsang, Chispani, and Kathmandu. Chess factory in Sin Gumpa, Langtang Glacier, KanjinRi, Gosainkunda Lake, LauriBinakay Pass, typical Langtang village, Oak and Rhododendron forests, are the main attraction of this trekking route.

Gosainkunda Lake Trek is equally very popular for Hindu and Buddhist people; it is a spiritual journey to get a bath in the Lake to go to heaven by washing sins as done in this physical world. Every Year, during the Janai Purnima festival in August, thousands of Hindu people visit to get holy bath in the Lake.

 

It is said that Hindu God Shiva drank the poison from Samundramanthan and wandering to drink cold water to kill the heat of Poison; finally, he came to Gosainkunda and hit a rock with his weapon Trishul (Three pointed sword), later he drunk water. The large Lake was formed and it is said to be remains of a Shiva Shrine and people started to visit holy Place Gosainkunda.

 

Langtang valley is very popular for glaciers having the best view of LangtangLirung, Gang Chempo, LakpaDorje, NayaKangri with more white Himalayan peaks. The amazing picture of KyanjinGompa makes your trip lifetime unforgettable. The area was nominated Nepal’s first National park in 1971. Langtang Gosainkunda trek is also known as Langtang Circuit Trekking which covers Langtang valley to Gosainkunda Lake via LauriBinayak Pass to Kathmandu. Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu Nepal

 

Our represented member from our company receives you from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu Nepal. Drive to Hotel; meet with your trek organizer.

Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing

 

Our cultural tour guide takes you to show world heritage sites of Nepal such as Monkey Temple, Old Patan City, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. It is a full-day guided tour where our guide will explain about Nepal associating with history, Geography, religion, People and culture where you can have a cross-question to him to know about all details of Nepal.

Day 3 Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (Drive 5-6 hrs) 1610m

 

Early morning after having breakfast, drive to SyabruBesi with your guide and porters. It takes 5-6 hours drive to reach in SyabruBesi. During your drive, you will pass beautiful villages, Trishuli River, and Dhunche. You are not only drive by Jeep but also enjoy the views of Himalayan scenery. Overnight at SyabruBesi.

Day 4 SyabruBesi to Lama Hotel (2480m, 5-6 hrs walk)

 

SyabruBesi is the beginning point of the Langtang valley trek. In the morning, we ready to hike to Langtang with your trekking crew. When you go ahead from SyabruBesi cross Bhote Koshi River and follow the Lantang Khola River. You will gradually climb to Bamboo passing via the Landslide area and a little forest. Again, we ascend to Rimche from Bamboo after lunch. Rimche is the best place to have beautiful scenery. From Rimche we have a relaxed walk to Lama Hotel. During your trek, you will see Red pandas, Monkeys, Bears too. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 5 Lama Hotel to Langtang (3540m 5-6 hrs walk)

 

Today, you will sleep in Langtang village after having an adventure hike crossing GhodaTabela. Lantang is recently getting reconstructed. Due to the Massive earthquake of 2015, the whole Langtang village was destroyed, many people died and lost. It is one of the popular local villages in Nepal. The valley is superb and awesome. Overnight at Langtang.

Day 6 Langtang to KyanjinGompa (3900 m 3 hrs walk)

 

Today, you have a short walk to KyanjinGompa from Langtang. Until you will follow the Langtang Khola River with a stunning view of Himalayan Peaks. Your guide will take you to show a small monastery and cheese factory. Explore around KyanjinGompa. Overnight at KyanjinGompa.

Day 7 Explore Around (Hike to Cherkori) 5050m

 

Today is the special explore day where your guide takes you to Cherkori which is 5050m high. It is a great adventure day to hike to Cherkori and back to KyanjinGompa. This is the highest point from where you will have a great view of Lantang, LangtangLirung, Dorje-Lakpa, Sisapangma, and more peaks of the Langtang region. Overnight at Tea-House of KyanjinGompa

Day 8 KyanjinGompa to Lama Hotel (2480m 7-8 hrs walk)

 

After breakfast, trek down to Lama Hotel via Lantang and Mundu village. You will walk all the way down by following again Langtang Khola. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

 

Day 9 Lama Hotel to ThuloSyabru 2180m 5 hrs walk

 

From the Lama Hotel, trekking trail goes down to Bamboo through dense forests again walk down to Pahiro and we escape the way to SyabruBesi; ascend up to ThuloSyabru through bamboo forests, cross a suspension bridge and finally after 1-hour reach to ThuloSyabru. ThuloSyabru is the big Tamang village where potato is their main harvest in the farmland. Overnight at ThuloSyabru.

Day 10 ThuloSyabru to Sing Gompa 3250 m 5 hrs walk

 

Today, we hike to Sing Gompa from ThuloSyabru by passing a school, army post and ascend steep hill till Dursagang. During steep climbing, there are huge forests and big trees and we reach to FhulungDanda. From where we can see the panoramic view of Ganesh Himal, LantangLirung and more white Himalayan Peaks. From the top of FhulungDanda, the trail goes straight to Sing Gompa. We also visit the local cheese factory in Sing Gompa.

Day 11 Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda 4100m 6-7 hrs walk

 

From Sing Gompa, trek to Gosainkunda through rugged and steep trail and dense forests where there is the possibility to see Red Panda on the way. The dramatic view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, LangtangLirung makes your trip awesome. We climb to ChalangPati also enjoy the view from View Point. We walk through rhododendron and pine forests and we will reach to Lauribina Yak. The trail is more diverse in wildlife vegetation. Gosainkunda is protected land, where killing animals, the lighting of wood fires and grazing Goats are strictly prohibited. After finishing the steep climbing of Lauribina Yak, we have a little tuff walk to Gosainkunda. Local people believe that without sticks cannot conquer the climbing part so need stick to climb Gosainkunda. We can see the stone shelters on the way to Gosainkunda which is made by pilgrims during the visit to festival time to have good luck and peace. We cross a beautiful temple with a statue of Buddha and reach in SaraswatiKunda, BhairavKunda and finally Gosainkunda.

Day 12 Gosainkunda to Ghopte 3440 m 6-7 hrs walk via Gosainkunda Pass /LauriBina Pass 4609m

 

In the morning, visit Gosainkunda Lake and purify the body by washing face and hands and enjoy the magic of the majestic lake. Also, visit the Shiva shrine where Hindu people worship for peace and harmony. After breakfast, ready to cross LauriBina and walk steep down to Phedi via rugged moraines. Finally, walk in a rugged way to reach Ghopte.

Day 13 Ghopte to Kutumsang 2430m 6 hrs walk

 

Today we walk down to Kutumsang via TharePati and GulBhangyang. From Ghopte to Tharepati we walk slightly walking up and from Tharepati to Kutumsang mostly all the way to down through forest and village area. Mostly we cross subtropical forests such as pines, bamboo, and ferns. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of LakpaDorje and Shisha Pangma. Kutumsang is a big village and it is nice to stay here.

Day 14 Kutumsang to Chispani 2110 m 6 hrs walk

 

Today, we trek to Chisapani from Kutumsang so most of the trekking route goes descents. We will also see an amazing view of the Helambu region during the hike we walk through beautiful local villages. Chisapani is a beautiful place to see a panoramic view of Himalayas; so many local tourists from Kathmandu go there to have one night stay.

Day 15 Chisapani to Sundarijal to Kathmandu 4-5 hrs walk

 

Today is the last day hiking in the mountain region of Nepal; Walking through Shivapuri National Park, the trail goes straight and all the way down to Sundarijal. We will pass through beautiful local village settlements and encounter their living standards. From Sundarijal, 1-hour drive to center Kathmandu.

Day 16 Free day in Kathmandu

 

Today, you are free in Kathmandu. Shopping day.
