Gokyo Lake Trekking

The Gokyo Lake Trekking is located in the Everest Region of Nepal which offers an awesome and stunning view of Himalaya also experiences the amazing Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Glaceir. It is one of the challenging trek need proper physical exercise to complete it. Classical Buddhist Culture, Lush Green Forests in Lower Part & Rocky trail in higher part with an incredible view from Gokyo Ri is the main focal destination of this trekking trail.

 

Gokyo Lake is one of the well-known trekker’s destinations having a 360-degree view of Himalayan Peaks. This area covers fifth Icy Lakes with Nepal’s largest glacier called NGOZUMBA with a splendid view of Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse.

 

This trekking trail presents not only the Himalayan view of the top of the world but also explores ancient Buddhist Monasteries especially associated with Sherpa culture and tradition. Traditional agriculture, farms, Buddhist Stupas, Old Buddhist Monks chanting mantra and Himalayan Yaks ascends to the route that makes your trip lifetime unforgettable.

 

Gokyo Lake trek is scenic and a little diverse to other beautiful places in the Khumbu region and also have the chance to see the top of the world Mt. Everest from Gokyo Ri. It is one of the adventure trekking tours which inspires all mountain lovers and trekkers to hike towards beautiful glacial Lake of Gokyo. Even Trekkers can continue trek to Everest Base Camp having adventure Chola-Pass after Gokyo Lake. One can reach in Gokyo Lake after having a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and hike to NamcheBazzar, Dole, Machhermo and finally Gokyo Lake.

 

Gokyo Lake is located in Sagarmatha National Park as listed in world heritage sites; it presents a beautiful green environment, glacial valley, Pine & Rhododendron forests, with an amazing gateway to Everest called Namche Bazar. In spring, rhododendron blooms and blue sky makes you easy to breathe in front of Everest where your dreams come in reality now.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu

Our Represented member from our Company assist you from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu Nepal and drive to Hotel, and preparation for trip and meet with Trekking Guide.

Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing

Our cultural tour guide takes you to show world heritage sites of Nepal such as Monkey Temple, Old Patan City, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. It is a full-day guided tour where our guide will explain about Nepal associating with history, Geography, religion, People and culture where you can have a cross-question to him to know about all details of Nepal.

Day 3 Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2850m) Trek to Phakding (2656m, 3 hrs walk)

 

Early morning transfer to the Domestic Airport for the Trans Himalayan flight and dramatic landing at Lukla: gateway to the Khumbu/Everest region. Meet your local porters and walk downhill to the Sherpa settlement. The trail then follows the DudhKhosi Valley before ascending to Ghat and Phakding. Overnight at Phakding Lodge

Day 4 Phakding to Namche Bazar (3440m, 6 hrs walk)

 

The trail meanders through pine forest, crossing suspension bridges and several Sherpa villages to Jorsale: entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park and permit checkpoint. Thamserku (6,618m/21,714m) glistens above the village. Continue to the confluence of the Bhote and DudhKhosi Rivers then climb steadily via the high Tenzing- Hilary suspension bridge with inspiring glimpses of Everest and the Nuptse – Lhotse ridge. A final three-hour forest ascent leads to the administrative town of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazar Lodge

Day 5 Rest day in Namche Bazar for acclimatization (3440m)

 

Today is the rest day for acclimatization but you are not staying at Tea-House. You will explore around; Hike to Japanese Build 5* Hotel and Khumjung village to see the head of Yeti in Khumjung Monastery. Enjoy the fantastic view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku and many high Snow-Capped mountains. Overnight at Namche Bazar.

Day 6 Namche Bazar to Dole (4200m)

 

The trek from Namche Bazar to Dole takes 6-7 hours where you will have an amazing view of KusumKangaru, AmaDablam and Glimpse of Mt. Everest. Today, the path is a combination of ascending and descending until you will reach in Mongla (4000m). From Mongla, the trekking trail goes steep down to PhortseTanga via forests of rhododendron and pine from there hike up to Dole through bush and hanging greeneries which makes your trek more impressive.

Day 7 Dole to Machhermo (4470m)

 

Today, there is no descending path to Dole from Machhermo. After breakfast, climb up to Luza (4355m), and follow Dudh Koshi River and finally, you will reach in Machhermo village. It is beautiful villages where our guide will help you find the best lodge there and overnight in Machhermo.

Day 8 Machhermo to Gokyo (4760m)

 

Today, you will have 4 hours’ walk to Gokyo via Ngozumpa Ice Mass. You will have the best hike today where you will explore the third big Lake. The beautiful image of Himalaya, Rocky walking trail and blue glacial Lake of Gokyo makes your trip amazing. You will sleep in the lodge which is situated near the Lake and back part of Lodge there is a big glacier which you have seen after you reach in Gokyo. Overnight at Gokyo.

Day 9 Explore Gokyo Ri (5380m)

 

Early morning before breakfast, our guide will lead the way to GokyoRi need torchlight to hike up. It is amazing 2:3o hours hike to Gokyo Ri which presents super Gokyo valley with massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible view of Himalaya. After exploring Himalaya from the top, walk down to Gokyo and Day time you can also hike to fifth Lake or walk around Gokyo Valley.

Day 10 Gokyo to Dole (4200m)

 

After having an amazing adventure in Gokyo, trek down to Dole via Machhermo. Today, you will have the same way back as you climbed before to Gokyo. We go all the way down to Dole from Gokyo.

Day 11 Dole to Namche Bazar (3440m)

 

After breakfast, continue to walk to Namche Bazar from Dole. You will have uphill and downhill to Namche. Overnight at Namche.

Day 12 Namche to Lukla (2850m 7 hrs walk)

 

From Namche, your trekking route goes down to Lukla from Namche Bazaar. You will return back the same way to Lukla as you had climbed before. Today, you will finish your trekking and tell Good Bye to your porter who carried your bag during the whole trip. Overnight at Tea House of Lukla

Day 13 Lukla to Kathmandu (1300m, 25-minute fly)

 

Early morning, fly to Kathmandu from Lukla with your trekking Guide. Tell Goodbye to him in Kathmandu Hotel. Free day in Kathamandu.

Day 14 Departure to Home

 

Fly to Home after having unforgettable trekking to Gokyo.
